Stichting IFLA Global Libraries

The Stichting IFLA Global Libraries was founded in 2016.


The object of the foundation, which is exclusively charitable and educational, is to strengthen the library field and to empower public libraries to improve people’s lives and support growth of sustainable societies.


The funding of the Foundation includes:

  1. Donations and periodic contributions
  2. Testamentary succession and specific legacies
  3. Subsidies
  4. Proceeds of the activities (also) organised by the Foundation
  5. Results of fund-raising and actions
  6. And all other income

Donations may be made to the Stichting IFLA Global Libraries.

Individual applications for grant funds should not be made to the Stichting IFLA Global Libraries, as they will not be considered by the Trustee


The organisation of the Stichting IFLA Global Libraries has a board of three members: Chair and two appointed Stichting Board members. The Secretary General of the Stichting IFLA Global Libraries is Gerald Leitner.
