IFLA Global Vision Kick-off meeting

20 – 21 March 2018

Barcelona, Spain

IFLA will be represented by President Glòria Pérez-Salmerón, IFLA Secretary General Gerald Leitner, all Governing Board members, and over 100 representatives from IFLA Sections and SIGs

Over the course of the two days of this IFLA Global vision workshop, we will explore the future of libraries and develop ways to tackle the challenges and opportunities that the library field will face. The conversation will continue throughout 2018 and will lay the basis for the years ahead. We have invited the engagement and active participation of all IFLA Professional Units in the workshop and in future activities planned under the Global Vision project. During the workshop, we will be also working out the details of Unit roles in this process.

The workshop will be highly interactive and we will provide participants the opportunity to voice their opinions and contribute to shaping the outcomes of the meeting.

Following the meeting, all IFLA Professional Units will be asked to continue the conversation in their respective units and put together a written report on developing action plans to achieve the collective vision in an aligned, collaborative way.
