IFLAcamp Library Creative Laboratory: 'A Hero of Our Time’ in a Library
26 – 29 June 2014
Saint Petersburg, Russia
We are happy to invite you to IFLAcamp Library Creative Laboratory: “A Hero of Our Time’ in a Library” that will take place in Saint Petersburg, Russia on 26-29 June 2014!
St. Petersburg, a city with a rich cultural legacy that lays claim to some of the biggest names in literature (Pushkin, Dostoevsky, Lermontov and Akhmatova, just to name a few) is an ideal place to meet for the next IFLAcampLab. The Lermontov Public Library will kindly host the lab, which will revolve around the theme "A Hero of Our Time’ in a Library". It is taken from the famous novel by Mikhail Lermontov, whose 200th anniversary will be celebrated in 2014. In addition to the city’s cultural heritage, St. Petersburg provides an amazing setting to IFLAcampLab. While you’re in St. Petersburg, feel free to visit one of the numerous museums (Hermitage, anyone?), or stroll down the scenic canals – the city is referred to the Venice of the North, afterall!
As with the first IFLAcampLab, we hope for 2014′s lab to be a truly international collaborative event, promoting the free exchange of ideas, experiences, and innovation among its participants. The program will include presentations, group work, informal discussions, workshops and a one day Cycling for Libraries-tour. Participants will discuss and work on topics built around the image of libraries in the modern world and innovation in libraries. You are encouraged share topics to want to see addressed at the lab in the registration form, via Twitter, Facebook or in the comments of this post! For the full program check out the IFLAcampLab page on the website of Lermontov Public Library.
