Description
The Caribbean Regional Workshop of IFLA’s International Advocacy Programme (IAP) will be held in Montego Bay, Jamaica, on 16-18 February 2017.
Representatives from public libraries and library associations from 10 Caribbean countries will convene for three days to learn about the contribution libraries can make to the UN 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The workshop will provide participants with the confidence and skills needed to develop an advocacy plan and organise awareness-raising sessions in their own countries in order to make sure libraries are included in National Development Plans.
Four previous IAP workshops took place in Asia Oceania, Latin America and the Caribbean, Africa and Europe in 2016. See more details in the IAP webpage.
