IFLA/BSLA Workshop on Promotion of Professional Conduct and Ethics among Library and Information Science Professionals in Sri Lanka

Two workshops have been organized by the Sri Lanka Library Association (SLLA) and sponsored by Building Strong Library Association (BSLA) Programme of International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA), to promote professional Conduct and Ethics among library professionals in Sri Lanka.

The workshops were held in Jaffna (in the Northern Province) on the 28th of September 2016 at the Public Library of Jaffna and Colombo on the 29th of September 2016 at the National Library and Documentation Services Board (NLDSB). The number of participants at the Colombo Workshop was 38 and in Jaffna, 106. Delegates consisted of Library and Information (LIS) professionals representing geographical regions and different library sectors in the country.

These two workshops were awareness programmes after the first phase of the SLLA -BSLA project, the Training of 20 Trainers (ToT) programme conducted in March 2016. The SLLA is highly thankful to IFLA and office bearers of BSLA including Dr. Premila Gamage.
